Promote and support philately and all related subjects in South Australia and Northern Territory.
Represent and co-ordinate the mutual interests of societies and individuals who have an interest in philately and related subjects.
Represent philately and related subjects by providing delegates to other organisations as necessary.
Represent Australian philately and related matters at national and international levels through affiliation with the Australian Philatelic Federation
Advise other organisations on philatelic and related subjects.
Co-operate with Philatelic Councils and other philatelic organisations in Australia in the promotion and development of philately and related subjects.
Encourage and assist in the formation of new philatelic groups.
Make grants or loans for the staging of philatelic exhibitions, research activities, promotion of philately and related subjects.
Establish a code of philatelic ethics.
Assist in training, maintaining and supplying judges for local, state, national and international exhibitions.
Assist the relevant organisations in the prevention and/or detection of criminal activities associated with philately and related subjects.
Acquire and maintain property either real or personal and invest and deal with the monies of the Council for the benefit of philately and related subjects in South Australia.
Maintain a library and archives containing philatelic literature and material for the use of members.
