The City of Noarlunga Philatelic Society Inc. was formed in October 1987 by Clive Littlejohns, Frank Chester and other members who decided to form a separate club from the Community Philatelic Society.
The first meeting was held in the community centre at the Reynella Retirement and Aged Care Facility, Main Road, Reynella. Over the years, the club has held meetings in various venues. For the past 20 years, the current meeting place has been held at Southern Christian Churches, 611 Grand Boulevard, (corner of Main St.), Seaford.
The club has hosted State Congress, “ Noarpex 93” - been involved in the Annual Stamp & Collectibles Fair at Noarlunga,1995 and Annual Stamp Fair “ Noarpex “1998.
We were privileged to have had Linda Welden (Briskham Award Winner – 2018) as our club President from Aug.1994 – Aug. 1997 and as club Secretary for the 2 years following.
We have two current lifetime members, Martin Forsyth, & Margaret Giles.
We are proud to have Frank Chester, current Treasurer and club founding member – 1987 and winner of the Harry Butler award 2021 in our group.
Members received 2 Silver & 2 Bronze awards for our club entry for the SAPC Congress in 2021 –Peter Humby (Briskham Award Winner– 1992) and current member, entered the Individual Display and obtained a Silver award.
We invite you to join our philatelic club as it is a friendly, active group that has a passion for collecting and sharing information relating to philately.
Meetings are held alternate Thursday @ 7.00pm - 9.00pm
Visitors are always welcome.
A member provides a display and talk on their collection at meetings.
Circuit Books and a members sales table are available at each meeting, also the latest information about various philatelic future events.
